Pickworths participated in the Midsummer Community Fair on Sunday 6 June. Held in the Market Place, Hemel Hempstead, the fair was organised by Community Action Dacorum (CAD). There was a packed entertainment programme including the UK Urban choir and the Paradise Sounds Project as well as a wide range of dance groups with styles from Modern Jive to Bollywood.
With a Marks & Spencer’s Hamper to raffle in aid of the Hospice of St Francis, a free draw for a bottle of champagne and balloons for the children, Pickworths stall proved to be popular and was visited by the Mayor Councillor Roger Taylor and other civil dignitaries. As the fair drew to a close CAD’s chief executive Mark Mitchell very kindly drew the winning tickets for both Pickworths hamper raffle and champagne draw. The lucky winners were Mrs J Hardware who won the Hamper and the bottle of champagne went to Mr T Gonzalez.
